Epic Moves from Epic Games

Epic Games is known to make major moves in the gaming community and they are at it again. On January 9th, Epic Games announced to the world that Ubisoft will release the upcoming Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 on the Epic Games Store this upcoming March.

“Ubisoft and Epic Games are partnering to bring Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 to the Epic Games store. Players worldwide can now pre-order the Standard, Gold, or Ultimate editions of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 o PC at epicgames.com, guaranteeing their access to the game’s upcoming Private Beta.” via Epic Games

Many PC gamers get their games from the popular game store Steam, however, after some speculation – it was clarified that Ubisoft will not be releasing Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 on Steam.

“Ubisoft has no plans on releasing the Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 on Steam. It was a business decision to focus on Epic Store and Ubisoft Store for distribution of The Division 2 on PC. Ubisoft fully supports Epic and their third-party distribution model, which is in the long-term, beneficial for publishers both large and indie and the video game industry. We hope this partnership helps to validate and evolve the model.” via PC World

Epic Games hit it big in 2018 and we are only 10 days into 2019 and it seems they are pushing for yet another huge year.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is to be released on March 15th on Xbox, PlayStation, and Windows PC. You can, however, register now for beta access.
