The ORB Interview
Featuring: Keegoz – That dude from KT
Each week Orbis Weekly will produce a number of interviews that we send out to people all over the world. The idea behind the ORB Interview is to shed a little light on people, especially ones we think the world of Orbis should know more about. The questions will range from basic, random, and relevant.
Keegoz is this guy that has been within this community for a while, ever since I’ve been here (when I think of him all I think of is Rose) I wouldn’t say we are best buds, but our communications have crossed several times. You might know him for being that one guy that says stuff, or maybe because he’s the Grand Master of Knights Templar – but he’s probably most known for his alliance of Kek. Here we go.
Orbis Weekly: Can you tell me a bit about your PW history? (where you started here, etc)
Keegoz: I heard that Sheepy was making a new game from a guy I knew called Flubb. He asked to help troll Sheepy with him by setting up a Nazi themed alliance. Sadly Sheepy didn’t seem to care much about nazism back then and took little notice. At the same time I was in Guardian who were looking for a new game to play, so me and abbas convinced them that this game seem to have some potential (This was back in Alpha) and the rest is history. I eventually led Guardian, then stepped down and sorta went inactive during the speed round.
I got a message a few months later informing me Rose was being remade in the current version of the game, an alliance I had been apart of in Pixel Nations. So I rejoined and haven’t yet stopped, that was almost 4 years ago now.
Orbis Weekly: Have you played any other simulation games in the past that may have led you to PW?
Keegoz: Yeah, I started playing these games when stumbled across Project Terra and was instantly sucked in by the community. However it was short lived and the game was taken down, I moved onto Pixel Nations with a few others. I played that for almost 2 years, that’s where I joined Rose and enjoyed basically rolling the game forcing an admin to cheat and eventually ban us from the game.
Orbis Weekly: So, no Cybernations?
Keegoz: I only ever played CN as a favour to others to be their tech farm. The only time I ever took an interest was in MI6, purely because of the drama and it had quite a few people from PW in it.
Orbis Weekly: What is your current role within your PW alliance? Are you happy with that role?
Keegoz: I am currently Grand Marshall (Leader) of Knights Templar. Not sure, after my last stint as Rose leader I tried to avoid regaining this position. This time is somewhat different however as I have a lot more of an independent gov that can work without my input being needed consistently. So I am pretty happy at the moment with giving direction and making those critical calls when need be.
Orbis Weekly: Any thoughts on the next Global War? Who do you think will be directly involved?
Keegoz: I probably know too much to really answer this in a honest fashion. I only know of course what people tell me but what I will say is that it is highly likely to kick off this month and will certainly be interesting if it goes to plan.
Orbis Weekly: How do you feel about the Giant NAP ending on October 18th?
Keegoz: Indifferent, it’s not something we were overly excited about to sign in the first place. I still don’t think we have a justifiable reason to hit IQ currently but I guess it is nice to have that political freedom to do so back.
Orbis Weekly: Obviously you know that Alex is the game admin, what are your thoughts on him and his development practices?
Keegoz: Tough one, in some ways I do appreciate his efforts he does seem to genuinely care about the game and a lot of the time any decisions he makes will always come under scrutiny. I think as of late he has probably been a little distant and we really haven’t seen any great improvements to gameplay in 2018, I am glad he doesn’t rush updates through quite as often anymore but I would have appreciated something more this year. Specifically I feel as though older players are starting to really run out of things to do beyond building cities and this is somewhat affecting retaining older players.
Keegoz: I don’t like it much, it seems as though some individuals are persecuted far more than others. I remember being warned last year by Alex himself for calling someone a ‘grammar nazi’ for getting too close to nazism. Now it seems like certain individuals can just attack someone OOC receive seemingly no punishment. I think it might be time for punishments and warnings to be made public so there is some accountability there.
Orbis Weekly: Is there anything you’d like to tell our readers that you think they should know?
Keegoz: For people to remember that this is just a game and that a lot of us are here to have fun
Orbis Weekly: What is one thing you love doing in RL?
Keegoz: Drinking, drinking and more drinking
Keegoz, thanks for getting back to us so fast and answering these lazy as shit questions.
